About Us

Founded in 1894, Smith Housewares & Restaurant Supply is a 127 year old 6th generation family business located Empire Plaza DeWitt, New York. For the previous 74 years Smith's occupied an historic Erie Canal building in the center of downtown Syracuse. Smith's has grown from its humble immigrant roots into a versatile company with many departments.

From the days when my great great grandfather and great grandfather operated a store front from their home on Grape Street, Smith's continues to maintain the finest display showroom Upstate New York. There are approximately 10,000 items in inventory contained within the store, including Freshly Roasted Hyman Smith Coffee & Smitty's Curiosities.
