About Us

Founded in 1894, Smith Housewares & Restaurant Supply is a 130 year old 5th generation family business located Empire Plaza DeWitt, New York. For the previous 74 years Smith's occupied an historic Erie Canal building in the center of downtown Syracuse. Smith's has grown from its humble immigrant roots into a versatile company with many departments.

From the days when my great great grandfather and great grandfather operated a store front from their home on Grape Street, Smith's continues to maintain the finest display showroom Upstate New York. There are approximately 18,000 items in inventory contained within the store, including Freshly Roasted Hyman Smith Coffee & Smitty's Curiosities.
